BLOGGING

The Awards Ceremony

Irrespective of how big or small life favours you, gratitude is what life seeks therefore you should give nothing less, in return. Without question, thank you to the person who thought I deserved these nominations.
In Loving Memory Of Jody Ann Bales whose blog is as real with words and as honest in body as a blog could possibly get, creating a feeling of closeness when I read her blog, which is what I appreciate in writing, when a writer can get you to imagine the conversation, characters and events in reality. In saying that, please accept my great appreciation to you for nominating me for the VERSATILE BLOGGER AWARD.    http://jodo1957.wordpress.com/

I started out blogging with my first category about the difficulty of trying to blog, and my first blog name which represented my persistence in days and nights of self teaching and more of an attempt to fight ones age and capability and defy the doubt of inability of the questions that plague our minds before we enter the world of blogging, What will I write? Who will bother to read it? and here I am, a few short weeks/months, in the prime of my mid life, defying the rules of gravity, enjoying every minute of it, embracing the blogging world a little more each day, savoring the words of other bloggers, practicing control from inundating you as a reader, inspired by the blogs I follow, and from the mere excitement of the faces I so look forward to seeing each time I switch on and thanking God every day for each day and for allowing me the privilege of the internet which connects people, cultures, minds, lovers, writers and humanity.

Its after one in the morning this side of the world as I write, and nothing could take me away from this place, right here, right now, because writing is what I love to do and this blog is my heart. Struggling to find the perfect words to thank all those who read my posts as well as “In Loving Memory of Jody” for believing I deserved the nominations.

My blogs writing is based mainly around lifes experiences, personal and otherwise, inspirations, motivations and stories that may inspire the reader, and hopefully keep you coming back for more.

When you consider nominating a fellow blogger for the Versatile Blogger Award, consider the quality of the writing, the uniqueness of the subjects covered, the level of love displayed in the words on the virtual page. Or, of course, the quality of the photographs and the level of love displayed in the taking of them.Honor those bloggers who bring something special to your life whether every day or only now and then.

THE IMAGINE AWARD

“The Imagine Award” is an award created by Jenn Mulherin (who is the writer of the blog “My Fibrotastic Life!”) in October of 2013. This award was made in order to recognize the bloggers who express their passion and dedication towards their blogs through their creativity.

How is creativity found in a blog?

Just like beauty, creativity is in the eye of the beholder. There are many unique ways which bloggers can express their creativity. Creativity can be displayed through:

  • Words (such as writing fictional stories or real life experiences, poetry, quotes, using metaphors, etc.)
  • Pictures (this can include photos, comics, computer-drawn pictures, etc.)
  • Videos
  • The layout of the blog page

The degree of creativity is one of the qualities in a blog which not only draws more readers, but it shows how much the blogger cares about their blog. The caretaking of a blog is like taking care of a plant. In order to keep it healthy and growing, you need to feed the blog with your ideas and give it a lot of love.

Here are some of the things that I genuinely like about the blog:   In Loving Memory of Jody:

  • When I first started blogging I read a lot about advice on writing from the heart which for me couldn’t have been any other way, so when I read the blog for Jody, I was hooked on the honesty and heart wrenching words.
  • The blog post that choked me up most was ‘Morphine Was Never my Friend’ absolutely moving reality of medication and also especially close to my heart, reminding me of the excruciating pain my father had to endure with shots of morphine which he tried to hold off from because of his strength, mind set and beliefs but morphine was his only temporary relief and in her blog post, she describes the effects the medication had on her life and body.
  • I feel human and like a compassionate being when I read Jodys blog posts
  • I am extremely relentless on women’s issues, violence against women, abuse of any kind, physical or emotional and she candidly speaks about her experiences with this and how as proven, love can be either to our advantage or our detriment, showing me the humanity and depth of love that her heart holds and the confusion and fight she has every day with love, pain and medication that which controls her every day choices.

The third award nominated to me is the WORDPRESS FAMILY AWARD by In Loving Memory of Jody and again, a HUGE Thank You for this nomination as I have never felt any less than family in the Word Press World of Blogging

This is why I created the Award:

This is an award for everyone who is part of the “Word Press Family” I start this award on the basis that the WordPress family has taken me in, and showed me love and a caring side only WordPress can. The way people take a second to be nice, to answer a question and not make things a competition amazes me here. I know I have been given many awards, but I wanted to leave my own legacy on here by creating my own award, as many have done before. This represents “Family” we never meet, but are there for us as family. It is my honour to start this award. Thank you, Shaun @ http://prayingforoneday.wordpress.com/

Rules:

1. Display the award logo on your blog – Done

2. Link back to the person who nominated you – Done

3. Nominate 10 others you see as having an impact on your wordpress experience and family – Done

4. Let your 10 Family members know you have awarded them – Will do

5. That is it. Just please pick 10 people that have taken you as  a friend, and spread the love – Done

Now, instead of choosing 15 for one award, five for the second and 10 for the third (this post has already taken me hours, I have no energy to do such a thing) I am bending the rules a little bit (as did the person who nominated me)

I have specifically chosen these blogs, not because I randomly picked a blog name but because I have taken the time to read these bloggers posts over time and have started to feel some sort of connection with them, admire their writing, find them inspirational and or educational and even though you are not expected to give your opinion as to what you enjoy about the blogs you are nominating, I will take my chances because for me it’s about interacting with other bloggers giving others the opportunity to also visit these blogs.  My Nominees For All Three Blogger Awards Are:

Helen Meikle’s Scribblefest

There’s a song that comes to mind when I think of Helen’s blog and style of writing, “You take us away from the squalor of the real world” the movie actually, Evita with Madonna, that’s what you do for me Helen because your writing is diverse, honest and filled with some great humor.

The Wine Wankers Blog

Need I say more? This is a happy blog with lots of fine good wine and the pictures will have you open a bottle of wine in a second. Besides the fact that I am a dedicated (yes dedicated) red wine lover for many years, I especially enjoy how they create a love affair with their wine, I would have it no other way too.

Limbiley’s Blog

Another blog from the heart I find, writing about his faith and the challenges that go with it, the confusion and doubt and the will to maintain focus. Limbiley’s Blog speaks of finding the courage to know that there is a purpose for life, even when you don’t know what it is.

The Opiniator

I love your blog Rupesh because I always find and have a sense of humanity when I visit your blog. Your posts and writing give me a feel of warmth and honesty from you. Your writing is diverse in motivation, life and business, very enjoyable for me.

Troubled07

Very interesting view of how a young person sees themselves or the world in modern day society. Troubled07 reminds us that at times being a young adult can hold just as much dilemma as being a fully grown adult and that they too are overwhelmed by becoming a fully pledged adult in a word where not everyone is kind and honest.  Dealing with people, characters, moods, habits, change, growing up and making smart choices.

Dennis Cardiff

Dennis writes articles and biographies about street people and in his blog he educates us on what life on the street is like and what it takes to create the change you want to see in the world.  He discusses the conversations he has with all the homeless, what a day in their lives is like and how truly blessed we can all be from doing just one simple deed for just one person. Very Inspirational stories.

Just a Simple Guy

The Simple Guy found me through my blog post “My Asian Love Affair” and I am so happy he did, because his blog allows me the freedom to do some online traveling and tasting throughout Asia which is naturally a phenomenal experience for me especially because I am in love with Asia and the Simple Guy has the best job in the world.  Taking us through the streets of China, Japan, Malaysia to say but a few, walking us through the markets, great photography and  tasteful pictures of food even advising us on  best times to travel in specific places he has visited as he has done in his post, Taipei-Maokong Gondola and Tea Garden. I could go on writing about the Simple Guy but I have to move onto the next nominee.

Logophile

Christie’s blog is smooth poetry with an emphasize on words used best to describe the every day movements, within and on the outside. I love especially how she has the ability to describe emotions and events quite so efficiently through her poetic writing. “These are the words I failed to say” “wondering and wondering” are just some of my favourites.

Jan Gaie

A women who has had her share of experiences is but an understatement and in her blog post “marrying early….divorcing late” she shares with us that there is always hope and that its never too late for happiness no matter what has happened to you in your life.

Otrazhenie

I find this blog very well established, filled with inspirational snippets and pictures which allows me to never leave without a shot of inspiration. “I must learn to love the fool in me” one of my favourites.
